A whopping 25 people were in attendance at our last event at the home of Sam and Jenny Ogden. The BBQ was great, the signing was great, and there was a fun game of Guesstures. It was great to see such a good number. Next month is our annual Fall Festival at the home of Brett and Ashley Jones. It will be on October 8th. It will probably be earlier in the afternoon so that any kids can come and enjoy the hayride, etc. We hope to have another great number out next month!

8 stomachs were full of Stacey's beef brisket on Saturday night. Thanks to Stacey and Christy for all the great food and fun. We had some good discussion and a great devotional time. Please join the group on Saturday, July 9th, at 6:00 p.m. at the shelter behind the Tennessee Children's Home across for the church building. Bring drinks and desserts to share. Scott and Heather Workman will be providing the meat. We will eat, have a short devotional, and then head over to the building to do some painting. Heather is planning to do some artistry work down there, and I volunteered our group to paint the base. Make sure to wear or bring appropriate clothes to paint in. There were 24 people present at the home of Chad and Lyndi Bailey on Saturday, May 14th. The nacho bar was delicious, and Chad did an excellent job with the devotional. Everyone appeared to have a good time and enjoy the fellowship. We hope the good number continues! Hope to see everyone next month! There were about 25 people at the home of Brian and Bekah Coggins for our April event. The mini pizza bar was a great idea, and Brian did a great job talking about how our Christian lives are like a Marathon runner. I am so encouraged by the great attendance lately. Although several members were out of town, a good number were present at the home of Sarah Bridges for our March event. The potato bar was a big hit, and Craig did a great job on the devotional after some beautiful singing. We ended up just sitting around and discussing things that were on our hearts that we needed to pray for as a group. 18 people invaded the home of Mary Smith on Saturday, February 12th. The baked ziti was delicious, the singing was beautiful, and we played a very interesting game called "The game of things." If you were not there, you missed out on a great time. Next month, we meet at the home of Sarah Bridges. She also lives in Golf View Estates. 13 people spent 3 hours of their life at Logan's restaurant on Saturday. Although tiresome, the hour long wait for a table allowed for some good fellowship. Once we got our seats, the fun continued and we also enjoyed some good food. We hope to see everyone out at our February event. New Sunday Morning Bible Class

On Sunday, September 5th, 2010, the Spring Hill church of Christ will offer a new class for our 20's and 30's group. Craig Evans will lead the class by covering a book by Francis Chan entitled "Crazy Love." We have a great number of members in this group, so the class should have great attendance and a lot of participation. Please make plans to attend this class and help us get it started off on the right foot!

We hope everyone is having a great summer and trying to stay cool! For July, Neil and Lindsey Dalton decided to branch out a little bit and host our event at the pavilion behind the Children's Home. It is down by the pond. Please gather with the group on Saturday, July 10th, at 6:00 p.m. Neil and Lindsey will provide the BBQ and buns. Please see an email from Lindsey about what you can bring besides the standard drinks and desserts. If you have any "outdoor" type games, be sure to bring them along as well. 16 people were at the home of Scott and Heather Workman on Saturday, June 12th. The meatball subs were delicious, the devotional was uplifting, and we had some fun afterwords with water balloons. It was a great turnout, so I hope that continues. We really would like to see more people out so that we can be involved in each others lives. Nothing shows how much you care for someone like smashing their face with a balloon full of water! Next month, Neil and Lindsey Dalton are in charge, and we will have more details as the date nears.

There were 7 people at the home of Brian and Bekah Coggins on Saturday. The Mexican food and desserts were delicious. Everyone commented that we ate too much! Brian delivered an excellent message on prayer and we had a great devotional period. Some of us hung around to play the game Flashback (about movies). Again, several people were out of town this month, so we hope everyone can come out and be with us next month at the home of Scott and Heather Workman!

Oh well! Nicki and I ventured to the fellowship hall on Saturday, April 10th, and stayed for about 45 minutes. Since no one showed, we headed back home. I know several people were out of town or doing other things, so it is not a total loss. We will meet at Bryan and Beckah Coggins' home next month. More details to follow. Our group dynamic continues to change. It seems like everyone is running for the hills. Recently, several members of our group have, or will be moving away from us. We will greatly miss Jonathan and Michelle, Mike and Christy, and Brandon and Laura. We wish them the best in what they are doing. However, this group will remain strong. I feel we have a great core group of believers that will keep meeting and keep looking out for the spiritual welfare of others. I spoke with Craig Evans yesterday. He is excited about starting his work here in Spring Hill. Enjoy the holiday season. Enjoy time with your family. But be ready. When 2010 rolls around, we are going to get to work.

Our annual Christmas Party and Gift Exchange was a "Wild" success. The potato bar was delicious as always, the devotional by Mike was great (except for Jeremy's sobbing episode at the end), and the gift exchange game was gripping. For those of you that were there, you know that the gift in this picture was the hot topic. After some minor cuts and scrapes, and threats of people never speaking to one another again, everyone settled on their gifts. You have to love this time of year! Anyway, our numbers were down due to travel, so everyone be safe and have a great holiday season. We meet at the home of Jeremy and Nicki Burleson on January 9th, 2010. We hope to see everyone there!

It's the holiday time again! Our annual Christmas Party Event will be held on Saturday, December 12th, at 6:00 p.m. at the home of Kevin and Sarah Glenn. 22 people braved the unseasonably cold weather on Saturday, October 10th at the farm home of Brett and Ashley Jones. The food was great, the hayride was great, the singing was great, and I could go on and on. Brett and Ashley really went out of their way as hosts. Thanks to them and everyone who attended. It's that time of year again. Fall has arrived, so let's have a "Farm Fall Festival." The group will meet in Hampshire at the farm home of Brett and Ashley Jones on Saturday, October 10th, at 6:00 p.m. There will be a hayride and bonfire. There will also be a "Chili Cook Off" complete with judges. Please bring your best chili creations (or soup) as well as drinks and desserts. The toppings will be provided. And what campfire is complete with Smores? Dress warmly as we will also hope to get to know some of our teenagers better. There will be a group meeting at the church building at 5:30 to carpool out there if you need directions. We hope everyone can make it!

The group is saddened to learn that 2 of our own are leaving us. Jonathan and Michelle Jones will be with us for a few more months before Jonathan begins his work with the Maryville congregation. Although we are mad, scratch that, sad that they are leaving, we wish them the best in everything they do. Jonathan created this wonderful group that we have and I appreciate him allowing me to be in charge. I personally have gotten close to Jonathan in the two years I have been here, and I will miss his friendship very much. Jonathan and Michelle are great examples of a Christian couple and we will miss their contributions to our group very much. Please pray for them and their new work!

The few, the proud, the bitten. 7 people braved the heat and mosquitoes for a period of outdoor fellowship on Saturday, August 8th at Evans Park. It was a nice change of pace, and I think we all enjoyed ourselves. I know several people did not want to be out in the heat, or were out of town. September is also still open, so we need a volunteer to host next month. We hope to see everyone out the second weekend in September!

A small gathering of 8 people met at Chad and Lyndi Bailey's house on Saturday evening. Chad grilled some hot dogs and led us in a great devotional. We had some good singing and we played Win, Lose, or Draw. There some great moments, that's for sure. Next month we are tentatively planning to have some sort of outdoor activity. We can reserve Harvey Park, or something like that. I am open to suggestions. If I do not get any, I will simply reserve something and go with it. I know several people were traveling this month, so we would love to see a bigger crowd next month!

A slightly less than capacity crowd of 11 people met this weekend at the home of Sarah Bridges. Although the numbers were down, we all still had a good time. This past Saturday, our group meet at the Jones' home. We had some great food, a great period of singing with our new books and a very interactive devotional. Some of us then played the card game "Spoons." Except for a few scratches and cuts, everyone managed to avoid major injury. Thanks to Jonathan and Michelle for having us. One year to the day save 1, we meet again at the home of Jonathan and Michelle Jones. Who can forget the night we all played Mafia? This Saturday, April 11th, we will again gather at 6:00 p.m. for a period of food, fun, and fellowship. Please bring drinks or desserts to share with the group. Jonathan and Michelle live in Golf View Estates off of Kedron Rd. As you drive on Golf View Way, take the second left onto Patrick Way. They live towards the end of the street on the right at 2026. We had a good number out last month, so let's keep that going. Remember, coming together as a group will help us be a community of believers that cares about one another and our souls. 19 people were at the home of Jeremy and Nicki Burleson on Saturday, March 14th. Nicki made some great Mexican. Jonathan Jones redacted his Blackberry cobbler from the table, but only after Mike Boggs had eaten a scoop. We had a wonderful devotional and then we wrote cards to other members of the church, and just tried to draw closer together as a group for our activity. Although we had a great turnout, it would be great to see some of those people that we do not see on a regular basis. Our next meeting will be at the home of Jonathan and Michelle Jones, also in Golf View Estates. More details will follow, but we hope to see you there.

On Saturday, February 7th, 21 people met at O'Charley's for dinner. Let's just say that seating and feeding 21 people is a 2.5 hour ordeal. After that, 17 people braved the hardwood for some bowling. From what I could see, there was a lot of laughs and good times. I am grateful we had such a good turnout. It was nice to see some people we have not seen in a while. Our next event will be at the home of Jeremy and Nicki Burleson in Golf View Estates. I think most everyone has been there before. Well, another year, and another successful game of "Dirty Santa." 19 people were gathered at the home of Kevin and Sarah Glenn for our annual Christmas party. Once again, the potato bar was a hit. We had a wonderful period of devotion to God, and then played a gift exchange game. Here, Sam is enjoying his jumbo lollipop. Happy Holidays! As a group, we hope everyone has a safe and happy travel season. Although we are busy, we still want to make time to get together for our annual Christmas party. Kevin and Sarah Glenn have again agreed to host our event this year. Please join us on Saturday, December 13th, at 6:00 p.m. The Glenn's live in Tanyard Springs. Their address is 4029 Williford Way. If you would like to participate in a gift exchange game, please bring a gift valued at $10 or less. If you would rather not participate, there will still be things to do. We will again have a potato bar, so please bring your favorite toppings and desserts. This was a very enjoyable time last year, so please make every effort to attend with us! On Saturday, November 8th, there were 16 people that met at the home of Mike and Christy Boggs. There were some delicious soups and desserts to eat. We celebrated the upcoming birth of Scott and Heather Workman's baby. Mike led us in a very heartfelt devotional. And then...we had karaoke. Here is picture of Jeremy doing his Elvis impersonation. Most everyone got into the spirit, although there were a few couples that did not. Thanks to Mike and Christy for a great idea! Next month is our Christmas party at the home of Kevin and Sarah Glenn. Jonathan wanted to mention a "Young Professionals Rally" that will be held at Cathy's Creek church of Christ in Hampshire, TN. On Saturday, October 11th, 15 people were gathered at the home of Chad and Lyndi Bailey. An excellent assortment of chili was served, and the desserts were vast and delicious. Chad delivered an excellent devotional, and I personally thought that the singing was one of the best we have had. After the devotional, Chad brought out the ORIGINAL Nintendo (none of this new "Wii" stuff). Those that dared to, tried their hands and the very first Super Mario Bros. game. Everyone seemed to find it a little more difficult than we remembered! Thanks to Chad and Lyndi for an excellent evening. Lord willing, next month we will meet at the home of Mike and Christy Boggs. Well, due to the birth of Craig, I was unable to attend the event this past weekend. However, I heard we had a great number in attendance and that a good time was had by all. The food was great, the devotional was moving, and Jenny blew everyone away on the Nintendo Wii (At least that is what I heard). Thanks to Sam and Jenny for hosting this month. Capsize!!

God, You are great! What a beautiful day. I am so glad that I decided to go on the canoe trip. 8 of our group were able to gather on the Buffalo River on Saturday, August 9th. The weather was absolutely perfect, and the nature around us was astounding. Unfortunately, Mike and Christy were the only boat to capsize, but that was funny enough not to ruin the day. Thanks so much to Brett and Ashley Jones for helping us get this outing together. It was a nice change. If this is planned again in the future, please consider joining us. For our August event, we have decided to take a canoe trip. We will meet at the building at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 9th. The cost is $30 per canoe (approx. two people). We will caravan with as few cars as possible, but please help out those who drive in regards to gas money. We hope to return around 5:00 p.m. Please bring a sack lunch and dress appropriately. Despite quite a few people being out of town, we had 15 people meet together at the home of Tyler and Blair Brewer on Saturday, July 12th. We ate pizza, had a wonderful devotional time and then played the game Bocce (see picture). It got pretty dark and started to rain, but we still enjoyed ourselves. Everyone should go to the reception for Brett and Ashley Jones from 2:00 until 4:00, and then head over the Nutt's later. Mexican will be on the menu, so bring rice, corn, etc. type items. We had a great time on Saturday, May 10th, at the home of Stacey and Christi Turner. We are so grateful for the use of their beautiful farm home. You just have to watch out for cattle in the road! We had a great meal, an inspiring outdoor devotional, and played a board game. 16 people got to share an evening with fellow Christians, and it was very rewarding. New Sunday Morning Bible Class Series!

We are excited to announce a new Bible class series for the 20's and 30's on Sunday morning in the basement. This class/workshop is lead by Jonathan Jones. We will be using a book to guide our thoughts and discussions about our prayer lives and our attempts to have a better relationship with God. On Saturday, April 12th, 18 souls lifted their voices to God in an extended period of singing at the home of Jonathan and Michelle Jones. I loved the singing and I have no doubts that God did as well. We enjoyed a wonderful meal and also played the game "Mafia." There were some pretty funny times and the accusations were really flying! I never thought the phrase "I think I felt her move her head up and down" could mean so much! Thanks to all who came and also for the Jones' who opened their new home to the group. We hope to see everyone out at our next event the second weekend of May. As of now, I do not believe we have a host, so please prayerfully consider this work. If you know of someone who has not been attending, please encourage their attendance at the next event. Our main goal in this group is to be a spiritual support to our fellow brothers and sisters.

18 people gathered at the home of Sarah Bridges on Saturday, February 8th. The food was excellent. Thanks to Mike Boggs for a wonderful devotional. We played the game Guesstures and had several laughs. Our next event is planned for April 12th at 6:00. Please plan on joining us at the home of Jonathan and Michelle Jones. They have recently moved to Golf View Estates as well. The live on Patrick, which is the second left after you turn into the subdivision. They live almost all the way to the circle at the end. They are on the right and have a gray house. This should be plenty of time to make preparations to attend, and I would love to get back over the 20 mark in attendance. I know many of us have mentioned how we love getting together with each other and having fun. Also, again I want to ask that if you would please be willing to participate in the devotional to let me know. This is a great opportunity to work on skills to assist in worship. Anyway, I hope to see everyone there next month!

Go about a half mile past the golf course and the subdivision is on the right. Turn onto Golf View Way until you come to Norman. Turn left and go until you come to a T at Nicholas. Turn left and then you will see Tiger Ct. Turn left and then Sarah's home is the first house on the left. We were down a little bit in number last month, but there is ample time to talk this one up and get our attendance back up to where it has been. Call everyone you can think of and remind them. Those who attended the event at the home of Adam and Melissa Schlaff on Saturday, January 12th had a great time. We ate some great Mexican food, had a very beautiful period of devotion to God, and played the game Catch Phrase. There was lots of fellowship and laughs. Thanks again to Adam and Melissa for hosting a great event. We had 22 people in attendance. We would love to have more if you can make the next event. Spring Hill 20's & 30's Group Growing by Leaps and Bounds!

Many of the people moving to the Spring Hill area are in their 20's and 30's. Realizing this fact, the Spring Hill congregation is reaching out to this age group.Devotionals for the 20's & 30's are held each month in homes throughout Spring Hill. These gathering are an opportunity to build lasting friendships and have a spiritually uplift. We have a meal together, have a "get to know each other activity," a spiritual devotional thought, and lots of inspirational singing! We had 25 present at our December devotional, hosted by Kevin and Sarah Glenn.A special class has begun on Sunday mornings for this age group. Jonathan Jones is teaching a class at 9 a.m. in the fellowship hall called, "Experiencing God." The format of the class is an open discussion of what it means to have a real relationship with our Heavenly Father. We are using a discussion booklet called "Meeting God" to help generate discussion. This class is designed for people in all stages of spiritual growth. This class is a safe environment that will nurture your growing faith and encourage it to blossom.
